Detailed instructions for installing macOS Sierra on a PC or Laptop using VMware Workstation

I went to work today and had to use my Macbook while I forgot to bring my Macbook. So I decided to grovelly install MacOS on my PC so that next time I can still work normally. Because the machine at the company is quite powerful, the SSD hard drive and 8Gb Ram are also quite good, so I decided to install MacOS on my PC by using VMware Workstation 12 software. By the way, I took detailed pictures of each step to guide anyone who wants to. install MacOS on your Laptop or PC to play around, to experience or do whatever you like ^_^. Start

In this step, remove the 2 stick marks

Then you click Next as usual. In the last step, you can choose License and enter the key in the file Serial.txt done. Whoever missed it, run VMware Workstation Pro and choose Help>Enter License to enter the Serial. Here, consider completing the installation of VMware Workstation Pro.

To make VMware Workstation run with MacOS Sierra you need to do 1 more step as follows:

3.10 Go to the directory containing the configuration file VMware. In step 3.5 if you leave the default, it will be in C:\Users\machinename\Documents\Virtual Machines\OS X 10.11 find files OS X 10.11.vmx orThen right-click and select Edit with notepad (I have notepad++ installed on my device, so I edit it with notepad++ for ease)

If after pressing Play, the Apple logo is displayed. Through the MacOS installation step.

4. Install Macos Sierra on VMware Workstation Virtual Machine

If anyone has ever installed “fine” Macos, come here as if you can do it yourself. However, there are still some caveats

+ After pressing Play, showing the Apple logo and loading bar, wait patiently until the following screen appears:

+ Select Use English for the main language and press the arrow Next. After clicking next will show the Logo of OSX. You do not press Continue in haste, but look up and select Utilities>Select Disk Utilities

+ At the screen Disk Utilities on the left hand side of the drive select Vmware Virtual… and choose Erase (see picture below)

+ Then leave pressing Erase or give it an arbitrary name (the bottom 2 boxes are default)

After Erase, close Disk Utilities to exit and select the partition name just Erased and press Continue

+ After clicking Continue, you wait from 15 to 30 minutes depending on the speed of your hard drive. My machine is SSD so it only takes about 10 minutes. After running, the screen below will appear with the basic settings to go to the main screen, please read English carefully and choose!

***. In the process of working with virtual machines. To get rid of the “mouse” from the virtual machine to the real one, press at the same time Ctrl + Alt dental. If you want to enter the virtual machine, just click on the virtual machine screen inside (or press Ctrl + G)

I uploaded some pictures of my machine after successful installation.

***. Some experience when using

+ When users want to switch to Full Screen mode to use like real macOS, click the Full Screen button in the upper corner (as shown)

+ Keys Windows on a PC keyboard would be equivalent to the . key Command when using on Mac

+ If your machine is powerful enough (core i5 or higher, Ram from 8Gb or more and hard drive using SSD) the experience on the virtual machine in my personal assessment is not much worse than a real Mac. If you decide to use it for a long time, you should share a hard drive of 50Gb or more

The article is quite long because I wrote it in detail so that anyone can do it. However, the steps are actually quite simple. You just need to follow each step to be sure of success. Wish you can experience macOS right on your Laptop, PC

Wish you all success –
