How to use Universal Clipboard on macOS Sierra to copy from iDevice to Mac and vice versa


Universal Clipboard is one of the new features of macOS Sierra 10.12 that makes the connection between iDevice and MacOS better. Now you can copy on iphone, ipad and paste copied content on MacOS

To be able to do this you need to follow the steps above.

How to install Universal Clipboard

Universal Clipboard can copy text, photos, and videos, so you need to see clearly what you’re copying ^_^

  1. Sign in to iCloud with the same Apple ID on both iDevice and MacOS
  2. It is certain that Bluetooth is being opened on both devices
  3. Sure Wi-Fi is on and both devices are share 1 wifi network
  4. Make sure the device are near each other.
  5. Copy your text, photo, or video on 1 device.
  6. Paste your text, photo, or video on another device

Notes

– Requires iPhone, iPad.. must be iOS 10 and Macbook, iMac…. must be macOS 10.12 Sierra or later

– iPhone must have the function turned on Handoff (Setting –> General settings –> Handoff)

– Above Macbook, iMac then enter System Preferences –> General -> check box Allow Handoff between…

  • iPhone 5 or newer
  • iPad Pro
  • iPad (4th generation)
  • iPad Air or newer
  • iPad mini 2 or newer
  • iPod touch (6th generation) or newer
  • iMac (Late 2009 or newer)
